General connection scheme:

Warning: before connecting Box III to radio - firstly connect GND signal. We suggest to connect GND from power supply with Box III GND.

Go to "Programmer" bookmark
Connect BoxIII to radio board according to above connection scheme
Set up Vreg to 5V, choose 24c04 or 24c02 eeprom depends on model
Radio must be Turn ON only if you had connected according to above schematic, if you are using general connection for i2c then Turn ON is not needed

Reading out original radio code (radio pin):

connect Box III to the radio according to scheme
connect +12V to the radio, turn it on (press power on button)
radio shows "SAFE”
insert cassette tape ( it's very important, without this program won't find the code at all )
turn radio off using POWER button on radio
use "Start Scanning"

BoxIII will automatically recognize if IGN9V cables is connected or not, and choose correct mode.

Modes:

IGN9V not connected - scanning time about 35 minutes
( If BoxIII will badly said it found the code - choose mode 2. )
IGN9V connected - scanning time about 50 minutes

Once code will be found, BoxIII will blinks Tx and Rx leds.

You can Close ASM3 software ( or If you have connected external power supply to Box3, or your USB power is independent of the power PC - Shut Down PC. ) Box3 will continue scanning procedure.
After restarting the AMS3 program, the scanning procedure will be break, you can continue procedure from last point by setting "Initial Code".

After finding the code will be stored inside Box3. To read status of last operation and CODE press button "Read Last Data".

Last Code Found : 0228 << this is radio code
Last Code Entered : 0228 ( read out from the device )

If radio is powered but it doesn't ask for code then it's possible to read out code immediately. Use "Read Last Data”, you will see for example:

Last Code Entered : 0228 ( read out from the device ) << this is radio code
